At a time when recording studios were being used only for recording songs and film tracks, in December 1991, the very first Recording Studio catering exclusively to the creative audio outputs of advertising agencies and marketing communication companies, Taurus Audio Productions, headed by musician Raj Senewiratne was born.

That was fifteen years ago. Since then Taurus has sped ahead both in technology as well as in creativity. Broadcasting standards and formats have since then changed to provide faster, clearer audio. Recording technology saw a move from Spool, to DATs, to Hard Disc and now to Computer technology.

Despite these rapid changes, Taurus Audio Productions has maintained an archive of recordings which would be the envy of the advertising agencies as well as their clients. Jingles, Spingles and Music Tracks for the best brands of FMCGs, Consumer Durables, Hotels, Cooking Oils, Radio and TV Stations, Food, Detergents, Toiletries, OTC Products, Cellular Networks, Mobile and Fixed Line Phones etc., etc., crowd the archives numbering over Two thousand three hundred.

Due to the heavy demands of clients for fast turn around and high quality, Taurus Audio Productions have even added more high technology to their equipment and also recruited some of the beast talent available as Composers, Recording Engineers and Production Coordinators.

Now with seven members on the team, they comprise Raj Senewiratne himself, Dinesh Peiris as Senior Composer / Recording Engineer who is versatile in Eastern and Western music, Wasantha Premaratne in traffic who sings in Sinhala, Clement Rodrigo as Recording Engineer cum Administrator and versatile in Recording Software, Ranen Francis as Composer / Recording Engineer who's forte is in Rock and Hip Hop style music, Shemara Premaratne as Production Coordinator who ad lib's in Sinhala background vocals and Mahima Sooriyaaracchi as Composer / Recording Engineer who's style of music is Blues and Ballads. Seems like there is talent within talent at Taurus Audio Productions.
