Lankan juniors
flop at Tennis

The Lankan junior tennis players ended the Asia/Oceanic Zone Davis
Cup on a very low note when they were placed last in the tournament
which took place in Malaysia with 20 countries participating.
Thailand won the event while Australia and Japan ended up as the
second and third respectively. Sri Lanka in their turn lost to Uzbekistan,
Philippines, Hong Kong, Singapore and Myanmar.
In their next trip to Bangkok the Sri Lankan juniors had another
pathetic tour when they just managed to escape the last position
at the Junior Federation cup games which took place in Bangkok last
week.Out of 16 teams they ended on 15th position and managed only
to beat Pakistan.
