a bright star
Avinesh Naresh-Kumar stepped into the limelight
just recently to be identified as an immensely talented rising star
in the teenage category. Coaxed unendingly by his Dad and occasionally
patted on the back by Uncle Nimmo, the kid takes the game seriously
chasing success energetically.
His career has been rewarding and with each outing the kid moves
into small degrees of maturity. Just recently playing in the company
of seasoned campaigners, he moved into top shelf golf in the tough
N’Eliya’s course to capture the handsome Hitachi Trophy
and a Golden Putter. He was cheered loudly and patted for a splendid
performance. Avinesh finds N’Eliya comfortable, the Victoria
at Digana quite challenging and on his home course at the Ridgeways,
the boy is happiest.
The Sri Lanka Golf Union in preparation for the development of young
talent chose Avinesh to participate in the British Junior Championship.
He will leave for the UK very soon with our good wishes for every
success.
