MAS Linea Aqua awards
educational scholarships
MAS Linea Aqua recently awarded nine academic scholarships
to children of company employees.

Ceremonially termed the ‘Linea Aqua Scholarship
Program,’ this initiative focuses on the enrichment of the
lives of employees and their families through financial assistance
channelled towards education.
This is a Linea Aqua initiative inspired by the ‘MAS Women
Go Beyond’ program created by the MAS Holdings Group to support
Career Advancement, Reward Excellence and launch Work-Life balance
initiatives targeting female employees.
MAS Linea Aqua is one of the world’s leading swimwear manufacturers
and its current position on the global map is testament to the commitment
of the 1500 predominantly female employees who have steered the
company from strength to strength.
The nine students (seen in the picture) who met the eligibility
criteria were the children of female machine operators who attend
schools in Gampaha, Hanwella, Veyangoda and Colombo. The official
distribution of scholarships took place in Kapugoda, at Linea Aqua,
under the auspices of the plant’s executive committee and
in the presence of fellow employees.
Principals and teachers from respective schools were also present
to lend support to the program which will be held on an annual basis
to aid prospective academic achievers.
