Weathermen give cool news
The hot weather condition prevailing in most parts of the country is gradually easing off with the rains starting to fall, a spokesman for the Meteorology Department said.

He said the heat Sri Lanka had been experiencing was seasonal and the situation would improve as from yesterday the sun’s path would not be over Sri Lanka.

The spokesman said that many areas in the country had started to receive thunder showers in the evening and Colombo could also experience rain today or tomorrow evening.

He added that the coastal areas of the Western Province and the Galle district in the Southern Province had been the worst affected by the hot weather.
