‘Hada Pudasuna’: Portrays sacrifices in love
Ananda Wickremage's twenty five episode teledrama ‘Hada Pudasuna’ is telecast every Wednesday at 7.00 pm on Swarnavahini channel. Nadun and Sanduni are lovers in a village and their affair continues with the blessings of their elders. Living with her parents, Sanduni is waiting for a job while Nadun, a well talented singer lives with his grandmother. Sumedha, the young monk at the village temple is a close friend of Nadun and Sanduni. Suddenly Nadun falls sick and the doctors inform that he needs to undergo a kidney transplant and Sanduni agrees to donate a kidney and this too without the consent of her parents.

Patty is a rich businessman who lives with his wife Sriyalatha and daughter Wathsala. Patty too needs a kidney transplant and the daughter suffers from mental illness.

Abeyaratne and Leo both are top businessmen in the cassette trade and they are rivals. Abeyaratne, brings a person called Mithraratne, a street singer and does a cassette of his songs and this brings him a huge profit. Abeyratne has a daughter called Sanjee. Nadun wins the Amateur Singing contest and produces a cassette with Abeyaratne and he becomes popular instantly. Meanwhile Sanduni, gets a job as a nurse and is posted to Ratnapura Hospital. Nadun is well trapped by Abeyratne. In the meantime Sanjee's boy friend Banue is angry as Nadun is forced to have an affair with Sanjee.

Sumedha, the young monk is pressed to abandon robes due to his mothers illness But she passes way. He donates a kidney to Patty. Sumedha starts an affair with Wathsala. Patty becomes a drunkard and dies and Wathsala commits suicide.

Banu's thugs attack Nadun on the day Banu weds Sanjee. Nadun is admitted to the hospital where Sanduni is employed. Nadun dies due to injuries. Sanduni is arrested suspected for Nadun's death but she is released as there is no evidence against her. Banu attempts to escape and is shot by the Police.

Chathurika Peiris, Kanchana Kodituwakku, Damitha Abeyratne, Jagath Benaragama, Manjula Thilini, Asela Jayakody, Manel Wanaguru, Ananda Wickremage, Rathnawalee Kekunuwela, Leoni Kotalawela, Sarath Kulanga, Nilanthi Heendeniya, Quintus Weerakoon, Rupa Gomes and Chandrasena Walimune comprise the cast.
