Malani makes miniplays
Malani Fonseka, the veteran actress and filmmaker, plays her maiden role as a teledrama director with ‘Miringu Nadiya’. The teleplay ‘Miringu Nadiya’ started to telecast from December 14. It is telecast every Wednesday at 8.35 pm belt on Rupavahini.

Malani, who had directed and produced number of films earlier, has made her debut to the mini screenbased on a story by Pushpakumara Ellawela.
'Miringu Nadiya’ , a family drama revolves around the spirit of a girl who assumes the form of a human after her death to take revenge from the people who brought misery to her life. Playing a main role as 'Biso Menika', Malani depicts an elderly mother whose love for her children is insurmountable.

She also depicts a faithful servant of a wealthy family where the masters are not so grateful to her and where she is almost left to suffer all alone in the end. In this touching tale, Malani displays the fate of a man whose greediness and unending love for wealth brings his downfall.

Acclaimed film actor Ravindra Randeniya and talented Duleeka Marapana play husband and wife while budding actor and actress Chandika Nanayakkara and Nadeesha Hemamali play the role of lovers whose bond is extended to the next birth too.

The young ones in the and talented cast in 'Miringu Nadiya' include Srimal Wedisinghe, Maheshi Gunasekara, Sahan Sithija, Manuranga Peiris, Champika Seneviratne, Indika Ishan, Dayasiri Hettiarachchi, Oshadie Hewamadduma, Premasiri Vithanage, Sobana Nirmalee, Kumara Karunananda and others. In 'Miringu Nadiya' Malani has introduced a number of newcomers to the mini screen.

The technical team which assisted Malani include Dhammika Ratnayake as a cinematographer, Wasitha Samaranayake and Sahan Sithija assistant directors, Chamikara Bokaragoda as Art Director, Wasantha Wiraddana as make up artiste and Rukmal Nirosh handling the editor's pen.
