Ellis:The Man In The Hat
Gary Ellis is one of Australia's most experienced country singers.
As a young artiste Gary met the great Burl Ives who was to influence
his career …..not the style of his music but the way to conduct
himself with media and fans.
Gary has never forgotten that advice. Gary together with Rocky Page,
Dick Parry, Les Partell and Pete Scoglan were the first country
singers to sign commercial contracts with Spotlight Recordings.
Gary was in Sri Lanka many times and alover of Sri Lankan baila
Gary's first release "My dog and me", was extremely well

HSV 7. Gary won Australia's prestigious AUSTRALIA'S AMATUEUR HOUR.
He was a highly sought after performer.
Gary
also appeared with the famous Johnnie Ray and was soon offered tours
of America and Canada. Due to unavoidable circumstances he could
not take up the contracts. A long break was inevitable to sort out
his problems but Gary "Got things together" and pursued
a career as a Race horse trainer, trackman and racing journalist.
Gary
sincerely thanks his Sri Lankan wife Preenie, who has supported
and encouraged him in all his pursuits. Love of country music brought
him back to the recording studio and he has now released 3 albums
within three years.
His last album "Man in the Hat" met with huge acclaim
and is still available. Gary tours extensively in South East Asia
and last year topped the charts for eight weeks with the Norm Burke
