‘Teen Spirit’for clean fun
The teen party of the month will kick off today, Sunday (October 2) at 4.00pm at ‘Checkers’ located at 195, Castle Street, Colombo 8.
The party is themed as a "Clean Fun" event, and consuming of alcohol is strictly prohibited and the bar will be closed for the day. The ‘Teen Spirit’ is sponsored by "Rockers" (It's all about us) and co-sponsored by "Elephant Cream Soda", while the print media sponsors are "TV Times" and "Daily Mirror".

‘Teen Spirit’ will feature some of the best talents in town. The live entertainment will be ‘DeadLyne21’ the very popular Alternative Rock band and ‘Revelation Episode II’ also featuring Amanda on vocals. Amanda is the winner of 2004 TNL onstage vocalist category. The R&B and Hip Hop Grooves will be spun by a few famous Colombo Club DJ's.

The organizer of the event Shean Dharmaratne says that this event is a beginning of a series of community projects that will be associated with music. He points out that music can help students to relax from study pressure and put them in the right spirit to "hit the books".

It is a scientifically proven fact that "Music" help children to focus more on concentrating on studies, also being involved in Music directly or indirectly helps them to keep out of ‘drugs and alcohol abuse’.

‘Therefore parents should be aware of these facts and should not discourage "kids" from having the radio on while studying or going for a concert’ he said.
Shean and his company "Talent Syndicate" Invite all young ones to an evening filled with Music, dancing, prizes and surprises.

Tickets are prized Rupees 250/- per head and the organizers say that the entry is limited and it will be of "first come first serve basis".
