‘Alien Accent’ to stage three spectacular live concerts
Suresh DK and Dillain in 3 nights of exhilarating original folk-rock-fusion will come alive on September 30, October 1 and 2, at the Bishop’s College Auditorium.

Suresh, DK and Dillain of Alien Accent together with a sensational line up of guest and backing musicians are ready to dazzle local audiences once again with their unique brand of original folk-rock-fusion.

Reputed for staging unforgettable live concerts since the days they performed as Suresh & Husni with DK, this concert too is set to raise the bar and provide a magical live experience. As always, the trio has secured some of Sri Lanka's finest musicians to back them. Additionally, they are flying down former L.A. session guitarist Sanjay Divecha who played on Alien Accent's album Rites of Passage which they recorded in Los Angeles in 2001. Sanjay is currently based in Bombay where he is one of the most sought after guitarists and composers in India. Other special guests include Thilan Wijesinghe and Aruna Siriwardhana.

The theme for this concert, ‘Badges & Blades’ is the title of their upcoming album. They will be performing some songs from the new album as well as songs from "Rites of Passage". "We'll be playing lots of originals as well as covers of our favourite artistes like Fleetwood Mac, Crowded House, Sting, Paul Simon and Tracey Chapman. Of course we'll do our own arrangements as usual," said Suresh.

The unique feature of an Alien Accent Concert is the attention to detail in every aspect of the show. This is a band that moves into the venue days in advance and meticulously plans out their lighting, sound, video screens etc., in their quest for perfection.

They are known to insist on using cutting edge technology especially for lights and sound. They also have an uncanny ability to attract some of the most talented musicians in the country and bring out the best in them. Their original compositions feature thought provoking and meaningful lyrics in a brand of folk-rock-fusion that is truly unique.

Alien Accent recorded their critically acclaimed Rites of Passage album in Los Angeles working with studio musicians of international repute.
According to D.K., many of the songs from this album will be rearranged for the show. The new arrangements have revitalised the songs and put them in a new perspective he said.

For those who have been following the progress of these unique singers and songwriters and for those who simply appreciate top quality musicianship, Alien Accent in concert is not to be missed. Tickets and box plan at COMMONS - 39/A Flower Road.

Sanjay Divecha guitartist
Sanjay Divecha has crossed many borders, both physical and cultural, in pursuit of his vision - a vision of a world community, expressed through music.
A native of Bombay, India, he credits his family for his early appreciation of music and recalls with great fondness childhood memories of his grandfather playing Indian folk songs on the harmonium. When Divecha was 8 years old, he began formal musical training on the tabla, gravitating eventually to the sitar. After his exposure to North American rhythm and blues and English rock n roll, Divecha took up guitar at the age of 17, when he was touring India with his own band. By the time he’d finished college, Divecha was earning his living composing jingles for radio and television commercials.

In 1987 he moved to Los Angeles to study at the Musicians Institute. He graduated from MI in March 1989 with honors. At his stay in MI, Sanjay had the opportunity to study with Scott Henderson, Joe Diorio, and Frank Gambale.
In California, his eclectic approach and forcefully mature playing enabled him to obtain work as a recording session musician.

Divecha has recorded with world renowned West African vocalist Angelique Kidjo. Other artistes that Sanjay has played with include Carlos Santana, Sheila E. and Shankar Mahadevan. Sanjay is currently based in Bombay where he is one of the most in demand guitarists and composers for the film industry.
Alien Accent Concert is a production of Delair Event and sponsored by Suntel.
