Future of Sathosa: Solution within sight?
As the protest and fast held by the Sathosa employees continued for the 18th day, an understanding was arrived at between the Inter-Company Trade Union and the Labour Commissioner General that all relevant parties should come to an agreement on the future of the establishment.

The move came after union members picketed outside the Labour Department this week. A union spokesman said the Trade and Consumer Affairs Ministry, the Finance Ministry, the CWE and the Treasury would be some of the parties involved in the discussions.

A date for the discussions has not been fixed yet. Trade and Consumer Affairs Ministry Secretary S.Virithmulla declined to comment on the state of a Cabinet paper regarding the issue, which was to be presented to the Cabinet of Ministers this week.
