A/L student electrocuted at Trinity hostel

An 18-year-old Advance Level student of Trinity College, Kandy, was electrocuted yesterday at the school’s hostel, Police said. The tragedy occurred when the student, Tharindu Menerigama from Aranayaka had reportedly attempted to repair a leaking roof.

The boy was pronounced dead on admission to the Kandy hospital.
Tharindu lost his father last year and was boarded at the school hostel along with his two brothers.

Trinity College warden Anura Madawala declined to comment last night, saying he was yet to make a statement to the police.
