Dare to win
Another year of A/level examinations has come to an end. University gates are opened only to a few. It is now a time of contemplation. What next? Contemplation leads to decision and the correct decision assures the student a productive future.

In today’s competitive world, conglomerates, blue chip companies, financial and investment institutes and banking organisations, all are on the look-out for employees who possess a qualification that ensures managerial and strategic skill and financial expertise. They need top class professionals to plan and develop their institutions, and in return the employee gains a position that ensures a life long career for the student who desires to take up accountancy. The CIMA and ACCA qualifications equips you with just what you need for this.
The Mercury Institute, situated in the heart of the city, was established in 2002. The continuous progress of the institute and dedicated coaching provided by the lecturers was recognised by CIMA U.K. and the grant of Quality Partner Accreditation was obtained within three years.

Mercury Institute is not just a mere tuition provider. The small sized classrooms and the limited intake of students provide a congenial and comfortable set up where students are able to receive the best of attention. The one-to-one lecturer – student interaction is of the highest standard at Mercury. The students joining at Foundation Level grow up with Mercury up to the Final Level.

The pass rate at Mercury has always been well above the average Sri Lankan pass rate. This speaks volumes for the curriculum established at Mercury. Comprehen-sive syllabus coverage, well planned revision programmes with mock examination guidance by an expert panel of experienced lecturers, free issue of study texts, revision kits for every subject – all these put together makes Mercury the choice institute.

CIMA is the most sought after qualification in Sri Lanka. The CIMA course extending to a period of two to two-and-a-half-years requires the student to pass 14 subjects, which are spread out to four levels. The entry requirement requires the student to be above 16 years of age and possess an acceptable knowledge of English and Mathematics. On completion of the course the CIMA-passed finalist qualification, which is globally accepted as a passport to a prestigious position is ensured. Students desiring further qualification can then proceed to do the ACCA professional course. All it takes is to pass five final stage subjects.

The ACCA is a globally accepted and highly respected qualification with a hundred years of innovation and experience. It has over 350,000 students and members in 160 countries. Mercury is the only institute in the city that provides tuition for all three parts of the ACCA Professional Course and the CAT course. Within two years of commencing ACCA- based education, it has been granted Registered Level Accreditation by ACCA, U.K.

The ACCA course extends to a period of two to two-and-a-half-years. The student has to successfully complete the Professional Course to gain the ACCA Affiliate Qualification. The course consists of 14 subjects spread out over three parts. On successful completion of Part II the student can obtain the unique qualification of the Bsc (Hons) degree in Applied Accountancy through the Oxford Brookes University.

A visit to Mercury is a must. Once you see the ambiance, the student will have no hesitation in the decision of his/her future.
