Speed 2005-Round 1 on 28th May

AMRC is to present the motor racing enthusiasts yet another thriller on the 28th of May at the Pannala race track. Racing divers are burning rubber at the Pannala racing Circuit as the Speed 2005 count down begins after closing entries on 16th of May.

A total of 100 entries have been received so far by the AMRC for Round 1 of the 'Speed Championship 2005'. Speaking at a Press Conference Mr. Trevor Reckerman President AMRC said "There will be many improvements introduced to the races this time. Discipline he said is the key word as always with AMRC, not only with the officials but with also the competitors".

Mentioning about the unique feature and the combination never seen before at a racing track of international repute Mr. Patrick Hapuarachchi, the President Cycling Association said "This is the first time in the history of Sri Lanka that "pedal sport' such as cycling is going to be included in a motor racing event. And there will be 30 different recognized clubs participating with 110 riders"

There will be a line of veteran racers like Dinesh Deheragoda, Aravinda Premadasa, Dinesh Jayawardene, Riyaz Farouk and Rohan De Silva already registered to participate at the event, while Shehara De Silva will carry the challenge among the women.
