Charge sheets on school heads go to PSC

The Presidential Investigation Unit (PIU) is to forward the charge sheets on the principals, interdicted in connection with Year 1 admission irregularities, to the PSC.

The PIU is now probing into Grade One admission frauds in three leading national colleges in Colombo. The frauds include admitting unqualified children, rejecting qualified children, accepting forged documents and admitting children who don't even have a permanent address.

A principal of another national college is reported to be charging Rs. 2000 from every child, be he qualified or not. Although according to some newspaper reports the PSC had said the interdiction of Principals was illegal, sources said interdictions were effected with the approval of the same PSC.
