New Year with Rupavahini
Sri Lanka Rupavahini Corporation is to celebrate New Year with a series of daily film screening starting from April 11. The programme with five films in English, Sinhala and Hindi will be telecast everyday from 12 noon.

The films scheduled are “Mana Mohani”, ‘Rudali’, ‘Crocodile’, popular comedy ‘Colomba Sanniya’ and An Evening in Paris (Hindi) and theywillbe screened in order from 11 to 14.

It is carnival time once again. SLRC will present a series of programmes to mark the coming festive season in Nuwara Eliya. The vicinity of Lake Gregory and Sathutu Uyana will be filled with an extravaganza of excitement, entertainment and games and musical shows.

There will be programmes to highlight the attractions in and around Nuwara Eliya during this festival. Rupavahini also has organised another series of programmes in the holy city of Anuradaphapura to celebrate the Sinahala and Tamil New Year.

Anuradhapura, Ruwanwella and Habaradoowa will unite in “Ekamuthu Gammanaya” to celebrate a New Year carnival and trade fair from April 9 to 14 at Harischandra Stadium Anuradhapura.

There will be a full day live telecast on April 13 from 7.00 am onwards and on April 14 transmission will commence from 5 am to mark the dawn of the Sinhala and Tamil New Year and will continue till 10.oo pm.
