Ranga Suresh in dire straits
Ranga Suresh the 24-year old athlete from the Sri Lanka Army (CSC) from Ambalangoda, has lost lock stock and barrel - The entire family has lost everything from the harrowing tsunami disaster. An outstanding athlete who has been in the forefront in the track since 2001, Ranga, lives in Colombo at Maitland Place (Army Band Camp). But his parents and his sister has no fixed abode and are leading a nomadic life since the tsunami debacle washed away.their home. They live 100 metres from the sea.

He said with emotion that they were lucky to be alive, but today they are struggling to eke out a living. They are barred from building their former abode - and have been prohibited from living close to the sea. They have no land. They have not even received any state assistance even to build a small house.

Today they have not received any assistance from whatever corner.
An old boy of Madampe Central College he passed two subjects in the A/L examinations and joined the army.
