SLMM head undergoes surgery
Sri Lanka Monitoring Mission (SLMM) head Major General Trond Furuhovde has undergone surgery at a private hospital in Colombo for cancer, a news release from the SLMM stated yesterday.

The statement said that two tumours were successfully removed from his intestines but further treatment had been recommended. Chief of Staff Wagn Winkel will be acting Head of Mission until further notice, the SLMM stated.
