‘Isi Dasuna’: Portrays action & reaction

The miniplay ‘Isi Dasuna’ (Divine Vision) revolving around a series of events that follow in the wake of an accident is being telecast every Saturday on the 9.00pm belt on Swarnavahini channel.

The twenty-episode teledrama scripted by K. B. Herath is produced and directed by Sumana Wanninayake. The stars in the drama are Buddadasa Vithanarachi, Sumana Wanninayake, Ruwan Wickramasinghe, Anarkalee Akarsha, Prasannajith Abeysooriya, Chamila Peiris, Senaka Wijesinghe, Sujani Menaka, Sadda Uthpalakandage, Subasini Hettiarachchi, Tissa Bandaranayake, Lakshmee Damayanthi, Somadasa Sooriaarachi and Srimathee Heenatigala.

Based on the theme how human life comes to be destroyed if good and evil is not understood correctly and a righteous path followed ‘Isi Dasuna’ relates that how one would be punished for his or her wickedness in one form or another sooner or later. Living in the city Mr. Kasturiratna, enterprising man whose goal in life is the collection of wealth.

He sets on a pilgrimage to “Rajarata” accompanied by his wife, daughter and son. Contrary to his greed for money, his wife Amawathie leads a religious life. And the daughter Chulani is reading for the degree in a local university while his son Gimhana assists him in the business.

Chulani who is learning to obtain a driving licence takes the wheel but unfortunately meet with an accident. A child who was on the way is hit by their vehicle and is killed on the spot. Realising that nobody has witnessed the incident they quietly drive away.

The story from here onwards reveals how their action recoils on them returning as a mystic force. Camera is handled by Kapila Bolidda and Suminda Amarasinghe, art director is Suneth Nandalal, make-up is by Sarath Ranaweera and ‘ Isi Dasuna’ is edited by Pujitha Kanchana Amarasinghe. Ranjith Balasooriya handles the music. Veteran singer Nanda Malini sings the lyrics written by Kularathna Ariyawansa.
