Get Sparked this season
Emerging into the scene with bright sounds that spark up the audience with versatility and hit songs is the seven piece live outfit SPARK. The band is led and managed by singer cum keyboardist Sanjeewa Uyanahewa.

The experienced line-up up has been together for the last eight months and have been featured in many a dinner dances and functions in and out of Colombo.

‘Jayasri in concert, SLIM dinner dance are just few to mention. The band is also booked for a few of the glamorous dances of the year such as SriLankan Air, LOLC, Sampath Bank etc.’ Sanjeewa said.

Spark is live in action at Mollies on Sundays and Clancy’s on Mondays. Sanjeewa Says he is grateful for Geoffrey Fernando of Purple Rain fame for all the support given towards the band.

The line-up consist of very talented musicians. On percussions Chullaka, Nadeesha on drums, Samantha on bass and vocals, handling lead guitar is Suranga. Acoustic guitar and rhythm handled by Manoj and Varuna on keyboards.

Sanjeewa says that the band has just completed their originals for the local market. ‘We have already finished and recorded two songs written and composed by talented Samantha Geekiyanage. One is a wedding song and undoubtedly will be a hit among the local bands and listeners alike.’ he said.

Most probably the boys will be out of island for the new year. ‘We will be planing to go out of the country for the new year.’ he said
