Regency New Year bash for Ebony
Popular band Ebony will be in action at the New Year bash at Earl’s Regency Hotel, Kandy on December 31.

The band Ebony led by Udaya Galappaththi has been in the music scene from the year 1986. They were the popular choice in the west coast resort belt during the past two decades and weddings, gigs and other functions came their way very often.

We played lot at weddings. That’s our specialty, dances, parties, get-togethers and hotel lobbies are on our menu. We play for any audiences and we have a wide repertoire of songs, Udaya explained.

The band consists of six family members, Udaya (leader), Chanaka (guitar), Sampath (drums), Dilrukshi (vocals), Channa (bass) and Nuwan (keyboards).

Also we have formed a three piece outfit called ‘Ebony Trio’ for small functions since year 2000 and it is catching up very fast. Nuwan, Channa and Dilrukshi perform as Ebony Trio at Ceylon Continental on Wednesday and at Colombo Swimming Club on Thursdays.
