Up the ladder
Brigadier Kapila Hendavitharana has been promoted to the rank of Major General in the Sri Lanka Army with effect this week. In this elevated position he will formally assume office as Director General of Military Intelligence (DGMI) - a new post at the Joint Operations Headquarters (JOH).

In this position he will responsible for the joint tri service intelligence apparatus.

Good start
Army Commander Lt. Gen. Shantha Kottegoda in his eagerness to be transparent on military procurements has set a new record.

Weeks ago, a Czech delegation wanting to offer military supplies to the Army had a meeting with him. Lt. Gen. Kottegoda made sure two middle level officers connected with the subject were present throughout the discussion.
