VD scare in K’gala

The Kurunegala district has been hit by a high incidence of sexually transmitted diseases mainly among school children, the CMO of the Sexually Transmitted Disease control unit at Kurunegala hospital, Dr. H.A.C.W. Hathurusinghe said.

He attributed the rapid development of the town which attract many people for employment, the increase of professional sex workers and the mushrooming of tuition classes for the increase of victims of sexually transmitted diseases.
