Gem of a Doosra
Vogue Jewellers yesterday felicitated ace spinner Muttiah Muralidaran for a different reason - his humanitarian work through the Muralidaran (Kushil) Gunasekera Trust. Gunasekera is the world-record breaker's manager.

The jewellery firm gifted Muralidaran with "The Doosra" - a unique replica of a cricket ball hand crafted in 18 carat gold and studded with 1,500 Sri Lankan gems at a ceremony at the firm's Kollupitiya store. A company spokesman declined to reveal the value of this gift but said it was separately donating Rs 100,000 to the trust.
