Dengue spreading in Kandy city limits

The Kandy General Hospital has admitted 225 patients diagnosed with dengue for the month of May. Director of the Hospital Dr. Gamini Samarasinghe told The Sunday Times that dengue was fast spreading in the Kandy city limits and if the Municipal Council did not take immediate action the situation would worsen.

Dr. Samarasinghe said only 375 patients with dengue were admitted in 2003, while 575 patients have been admitted already this year.
