Top Treasury consultants lose jobs
Senior officials appointed as consultants or on contract in the Finance Ministry by the previous government have had their contracts terminated. They include tax advisor P. Guruge and N. Pathmanathan, deputy secretary to the Treasury.

Senior deputy secretary to the Treasury Faiz Mohideen has been transferred to the pool of public servants. Manik Nagahawatte, former Senior Deputy Governor of the Central Bank, said he has not been appointed chairman of the Bank of Ceylon, as suggested in media reports. P. Amarasinghe, also a former deputy governor, has also not received an appointment as chairman of the People's Bank as speculated.

Meanwhile, Ceylon Carriers chairman Udaya Nanayakkara has been appointed as chairman of the Ceylon Tourist Board and Chandra Mohotti, former general manager of the Galadari Hotel, as chairman of the Ceylon Hotels Corporation.

Nanayakkara is the president of the Universal Federation of Travel Agents' Associations, the apex body representing all travel agents associations in the world, and has also been president of the Travel Agents' Association of Sri Lanka.
