'Murali World Record Campaign' in full swing
Janashakthi Insurance Company Limited (JICL) launched an aggressive campaign to support its most celebrated staffer, the famed Sri Lanka cricketer and world-class spinner Muttiah Muralitharan, in the countdown to breaking Courtney Walsh's world record of 519 test wickets.

The first of the two test matches against Zimbabwe commences on the 6th of May 2004 and it is certain that Murali who has at present captured 513 test wickets, will become the leading wicket taker in the world during this match.

The campaign supporting Murali's impending world record which was launched by JICL will give an opportunity to all his fans show their support by walking into any of the 78 Janashakthi Insurance branches island-wide and write their well wishes in a specially dedicated book placed in each office. These books in turn will be presented to Murali when he returns from Zimbabwe.

JICL has also arranged a specially designed outdoor promotion unit consisting of a float and propaganda van, which will travel extensively around the island informing the general public of the availability of an avenue to forward their messages to Murali through Janashakthi.

JICL Director Marketing Tryphon Mirando said that the company was very proud to have Murali as a member of the Janashakthi family. "We have launched this ambitious campaign to express our solidarity with Murali in the achieving of the much coveted world record. Janashakthi has on many occasions felicitated Murali when he achieved many a milestone during his career and we are proud to do so once again as he is truly the world's greatest spin bowler of all time."

"We look forward to him continuing his cricketing career for many more years, establishing in the process an unbreakable record and we wish him all success and strength to overcome all obstacles in his way in achieving this milestone", Mirando added.
