Binupa swipes Careem Jewels
Binupa Wijesinghe an absolute "Lupperty" teenager crowned himself with glory picking up an outstanding win in the Careem Jewellers stroke play competition at the Ridgeways. The 14 year old has been in great shape in recent months and his nett 68 off handicap 9 came as no surprise to the string of strong competitors he had to match with.

Mithun Perera the other teenager on 17 came good too to tie with Binupa but his back nine was not good enough. Ferin Careem the Chairman of Hilton Jewellers will pick suitable awards for the two teenage winners for their outstanding performances.

Straight from the tabernacle Rajan Joseph got back his skills to punch his way to a good win in the 'B' Division beating long driving Rathven de Livera who settled on the same score nett 69.

Sumedha Amerasinghe, Joseph Sebatu and Primal Wijenayake provided the confetti.

Tony wins 'G'
Tony Nadaraja was outstanding with the best score of the day. Still a rookie he fearlessly went for his shots and was amply rewarded with a great nett 64 and a jewel from Careems. Klaes Bo Rasmussen new on the scene impressed immensely with nett 66 to tie with Lester Weinman who is striking a better ball after he changed his coach. S. Subramaniam struck an excellent round of nett 68 and celebrated incessantly.

Chris Candappa, Channa Gunasinghe, Amal Cabraal and Ajantha Mylvaganam bagged confetti.

Senior and Masters
N.R. Thabrew was deliriously happy with nett 69 beating A. Javadh by one stroke and in the Masters Division A.H. Sherifdeen came pretty good with nett 72 beating C. Thurairaja who walked behind with nett 74.

Poolists
J.M.L. Indika and B.G. Lalith Kumara were fairly impressive with 73 gross each. They are shaping superbly preparing for title events on the subcontinent soon.

Maclaclan Trophy
That young fella Mithun came good again to take the much coveted Trophy beating Tony Nadaraja by just one stroke. Careem Jewellers were once again absolutely lavish in sponsorship thanks to Ferrin Careem who is popularly known as 'Fine Chap'.
