‘Paradeesaya’
Depicts social differences
“Paradeesaya” is the latest teledrama telecast on ITN, every Thursday at 8.15 pm. ‘Paradeesaya’, an intricately woven story depicts the way in which people’s life-time dreams end in failure in the most unexpected ways, as well as how some others succeed in the same way.

The screenplay written by Reginald Jayamanne is based on a story by Edwin Pieris, ‘Paradeesaya’ is produced by Sandhya Mendis and has been directed by Nalan Mendis, who has contributed a large number of popular Mala teledramas.

The two lead roles in Paradeesaya are played by Chaturika Peiris and Jagath Chamila assisted by a group of popular actors and actresses. The cast includes talented personages who have made a name on the stage and the screen such as, Yashodha Wimaladharma, Irangani Serasinghe , Bandula Vithanage, Deepani Silva, Sanath Wimalasiri, Kusum Renu and Dharmapriya Dias.

The story, depicted through life in a middle class flat consists of 30 episodes. Paradeesaya is complete with typical characters encountered in society. It is also a profile of an interesting flow of events, as well as the eternal human nature facing up to different characters and various ups and downs.

Intricately unfolding dreams of young men and women comprise the major component of the story. The heroine of the story , Vasana dreams of progress to a respectable position in life. The story reaches its climax when she meets the prince of her dreams.

All of Vasana’s dreams break down under impact of love affairs and physical relationships that make inroads into families. In the end, as in real life, love yields to social differences. Yet, class differences break down in the face of man’s search for love. Searching for love to live - is the eternal dreams of any individual.

Paradeesaya built on these varied elements is a superb family entertainment.
