‘Ridi Rayak’ to boost films
A few popular Sinhala films of yesteryear are to be telecast on National Television.

By this it is intended to boost the country’s film industry by screening more Sinhala films during the festive season. Under this programme titled ‘Lux Ridi Rayak’ the list of films scheduled for this month are ‘Duhulu Malak’ on December 18 (Thursday), ‘Saravita’ on December 20 (Saturday) and ‘Lasanda’ on December 27 (Saturday). The films would be telecast at 9.30 pm on the mentioned dates.

The National Rupavahini also has started other programmes like ‘On Location’ and ‘Cinemaya’ to promote the Lankan film industry. Meanwhile Hindi movie ‘Jhankaar Beats’ will be screened today (Sunday) at 12.00 noon on Rupavahini channel. This musical movie with a story woven around six boys and girls stars Rahul Boss and Juhi Chawla and directed by Sujoy Gosh.

Among other programmes introduced by the Rupavahini is ‘Thala Adaviya’ featuring three musicians, musical group and a dancing group telecast every Sunday at 9.45 pm on its channel.

The one-hour programme include singing and discussions on contemporary issues and details of the guests participating in the programme.
