Designer Julia Sandrasagara unveiled her creations under the 'Baggy Juels' label at the Hilton's Tittle Tattle Tea early this month. Julia plans to open her own shop at the Bellucci mall in Horton Place in December.


The 7th international hair and makeup competition HAIR ASIA PACIFIC 2003 organised by the Sri Lanka Association of Hairdressers & Beauticians (SLAHAB) was held at the Raffles Convention Centre, Singapore on November 3, 4 and 5.
This year 14 Asia Pacific countries, Japan, Philippines, South Korea, Indonesia, Malaysia, India, Pakistan, Singapore, Thailand, Taiwan, Vietnam, Hong Kong, Australia and Sri Lanka took part.
The competitors, most of them national champions of their respective countries, vied for awards in eight categories. Sri Lankan competitors did the country proud by winning the 1st and runners-up place in 3 categories - Dayananda de Silva for ladies’ long hair styles, Gayathri Dias for nail art and Niroshan Dissanayake for bridal make up. The most Outstanding Sri Lankan Performer's Trophy was won by Gayathri Dias.
