Kinniya cools down after two-days of tension
Kinniya was reported to be returning to normal yesterday with the curfew being lifted at 10 a.m. after two-days of tension over the alleged abduction of a Muslim by the LTTE.

A meeting to defuse the tension was attended by the SLMM, military and Muslim representatives but the LTTE did not take part. Trincomalee SLMM chief Abdel Burkan has arranged another meeting today between the LTTE and Muslim representatives.

After the alleged abduction of the Muslim, a hartal was staged and crowds reportedly attacked the residences of two MPs.
