Probe on clash begins
Parliament Secretary General Priyanee Wijesekera has launched an inquiry into a clash between a senior official and a police officer attached to Parliament.

Speaker Joseph Michael Perera ordered the inquiry after what had begun as a minor incident when the Police officer in question, an ASP's vehicle had allegedly blocked the officer's vehicle at the entrance to the Parliamentary complex at Kotte later escalated to the level that warrants a full scale inquiry.

The situation had escalated after the driver of the police officer allegedly made a derogatory remark at the senior Parliamentary official, sources said.
