Trinity stamp their class

Trinity "Lions" playing minus four of their regulars overcame a spirited St. Joseph's by 32(1 Goal, 5 Tries) to 10(2 Tries) in their friendly encounter played at the Royal Sports complex grounds yesterday. At lemons the "Lions" led 10-5. Trinity drew first blood in the 12th minute of the game when Niroshan Sanjeewa dummied his way to score under the post. But surprisingly Saliya Kumara missed the conversion. Minutes later Isuru Jayasena planted a try which was also went unconverted. But the Joes reduced the lead through Anura Pieris , who went over. After the half time Trinity scored through Saliya Kumara (2), Ellepola and Ahamad. One of them was converted by Ayas Ainaff. Joes scored their 2nd try in the injury time through Ishan Perera. For Trinity Ainaff, Muthalib, Muneer and Vidanagamage played their hearts out.According to Ravi Balasuriya of the Trinity Scrummage Sri Lanka youth players Megara Madumapatabendi and his deputy Manoth Vidanagamage will be representing the red shirts in the Clifford cup matches. Saliya Kumara is likely to play for the Gymkhana club. -Referee - Boppearachchi.
