Suicides on the rise in the South
The number of those attempting to commit suicide who had been admitted to hospitals in the Hambantota District have increased during the past few days .
Eleven people have been admitted to the District Base Hospital during the past few days Two of them, a man and a woman aged 32 and 23 respectively have died after being admitted. About four others are said to be in a critical condition.
One of the major reasons for committing suicide is said to be family disputes.
