Non-LTTE experts at Paris talks

The LTTE will consult non-LTTE legal and constitutional experts in Paris before it finalises its counter proposals to be sent to the government by mid-September.

The Sunday Times learns that a Tamil academic from the University of Colombo is among those invited to attend the Paris meeting presided over by LTTE political wing leader S. P. Thamilselvan who will be leaving Sri Lanka next Wednesday.

The team will also include non-LTTE members based in Malaysia and Singapore. They will be consulted on the legal aspects of the proposals.

In addition, LTTE legal advisor R. Rudrakumar and economic advisor Jay Maheshwaran, will take part in the consultations from August 21 to 27.

The French government is providing logistical and security support for the meeting.

The LTTE will also be taking a video crew for the meeting.

After the meeting in Paris, Mr. Thamilselvan is due to address the Tamil community in France.
