A memorable evening with Vochestra
By Ishani Ranasinghe
Last time around it was a roaring success. This time around they are planning to take Colombo by storm.

Following their resounding success of Sunshine, St. Benedict's College will present yet another unique production titled Vochestra, an orchestra of voices comprising the choirs of St. Benedict's College, Bishop's College, St. Bridget's Convent and St. Peter's College. Adding that extra touch to make it a memorable evening will be a 35-piece orchestra, which consists of members from the Symphony Orchestra and from the Army, Navy and Air Force Bands.

The organisers hope that this concert will prove to be a forum where the participating choirs can push the boundaries of conventional choral performance, experimenting with alternative songs, innovative harmonies and modern fusion.

Chairman of the Organising Committee, Ravi Irugalbandara believes this would be the perfect opportunity for the young singers to enhance their talents and gain great exposure in singing to a packed house. "They are also able to interact with other schools," he adds.

Vochestra will be on July 11 and 12 at the Bishop's College Auditorium. Tickets will be available at St. Benedict's College, the Sponge Pastry Shop and at the gates.
The principal sponsor for this event is Ceylon Cold Stores while The Sunday Times will be the media sponsor.
