Deva Rodrigo on Monetary Board

Deva Rodrigo, a top accountant and vice president of the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce, has been appointed a member of the Monetary Board with effect from May.

A Central Bank statement said the board has been expanded to five members from three. Bank Governor A.S. Jayawardena is the chairman of the board and the other two members are Treasury Secretary Charitha Ratwatte and Chandi Chanmugam, a retired Treasury Secretary.

Rodrigo, a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka, is the Managing Partner of PricewaterhouseCoopers, Sri Lanka. Currently, he is a member of the Board of the University of Colombo School of Computing, Monitoring and Advisory Committee of the Ministry of Power and Energy, the Governing Body of the Industrial Technology Institute.

He has authored many articles in reputed journals in the areas of business and investment, information technology, risk management, etc. and has worked in the UK, Singapore, Indonesia, Tanzania and the Maldives.
