Breakdown No. 3 for Year 2003
Another one-hour power failure hit the whole country yesterday - the third major breakdown for the New Year.

CEB Acting Chairman S Zubair said the cause was being investigated but initial reports indicated something had gone wrong at Kelanitissa.

As in other instances, he said the general causes were technical faults and the modernization process where new machines were being tested.

But, other sources in the CEB said the breakdowns were connected to maintenance problems.
