EUCO back in Lanka

European Union Chamber Orchestra (EUCO) will perform once again in Sri Lanka on November 15, 16 and 17.

EU Delegation office in Sri Lanka has planned to hold two public shows at Bishop's College auditorium in Colombo and one in Kandy at Trinity College Hall. The first Colombo Concert will feature Knut Zimmermann and Anna Biggin with Bach - Concerto for two violins in D minor, Buxtehude- Canzonetta, Handel - Arias: 'Wher'ere you walk' (from Semele), Lascia ch'io pianga' (from Handel's Largo), 'Rejoice Greatly (from Messiah). Also Dvorak- Two Waltzes op. 54 and Respighi - Arcient Airs and Dances.

The second concert will feature Vidaldi- concerto for Two Violins in A minor, Mazart - Divertimento K136, Bach-Violin Concerto in A minor (solo Knut Zimmermann).

Also Tchaikovsky - Elegy for Strings in G, Mendelssohn - Symphony No 10 in B minor and Bartok- Rumanian Dances.

The Trinity College Concert will feature Bach-Concerto for Two Violins in D minor (Zimmermann and Biggin), Handel - Arias: 'Wher' ere You Walk' (from Samele) and Rejoice Greatly' (from Messiah).

Also with Mendelssohn - Symphony No 10 in B minor, Dvorak - Two waltzes op 54 and Bartok - Rumanian Dances.


'Govi Creations': New TV Company
'Govi Creations', a new television programme producing company, will launch their operations in Sri Lanka on November 14.

'Govi Creations', a hi-tech institution is equipped with professional Sony and Ampex equipment, which are used in the USA, Germany, UK and other developed countries.

Rohan Welivita, a veteran electronic mediaman, is the managing director of 'Govi Creation', Chandima Govinda is the Chairman of this institution.

According to Rohan, the aim of this new project is to bring locally made programmes to international standard and to assist in the economic development in Sri Lanka.
