Down Memory Lane in Moratuwa
The popular programme "Down Memory Lane'', which is now firmly established as Sri Lanka's prime Sing-along Festival of Golden Oldies, will come alive on Sunday, November 10 at 6.30 p.m. The venue once again will be the air-conditioned ballroom of the Hotel Ranmal in Moratuwa.

As in the past American plantation songs, cowboy favourites, Negro spiritual wartime evergreens, Hawaiian standards, Calypsos, Perennial, English, Scotish, Irish and Welsh hits and oldies from the 60s and 70s era will be featured in this two and half hour programme.

'By popular demand additional songs of Jim Reeves will be sung during the show' said Thilak Perera of Moratuwa Arts Forum (MAF), which is the organizers of this Down Memory Lane.

The vintage orchestra will provide befitting music for the lively sing-along sessions on the piano, violin, steel pedal guitar, harmonica, acoustic guitar, bango piano accordian and ukulele , while the singers of the Moratuwa Arts Forum will provide the lead and thrust for community singing. A beautifully designed colourful song book will be given free of charge at the gate to each ticket holder .

Tickets are priced very moderately at Rs. 300/- and Rs. 200/- per head.

So, if you like to re-live the songs of yore made popular by stars such as Gene Autrey, Roy Rogers, Hank Williams, Hank Show, Hank Locklin, Veera Lyn, Pat Boone, Tony Brent, Jim Reeves and join in the singing of songs such as "Swanee River", "Ashgrove", "Danny Boy", "Bouquet of Roses", "From a Jack to a King", "Mary Ann", "Tom Dooley", "Tipperary", "Tavern In The Town"'Red River Vally" "Whispering Hope" and more come with your kinsfolk and friends to enjoy great fellowship amid great atmosphere to sing, sing, and sing!

Master of ceremonies will be Arun Dias Bandaranayaka.

The original VCD and VHS cassette in Sri Lanak is promoted by pioneering, Home Entertainment & Communications Ltd. (HECL).

TV Times & Entertainment in collaboration with Home Entertainment and Communications Ltd. (HECL), launched a monthly quiz in September to help the project "Buy Originals Only" and this is the third leg of the competition. The October quiz is How many Oscars did the movie 'Lawrence of Arabia' win?

The answer to the October 2002 quiz is '7 Oscars'.

Diwali Festival at Taj
Diwali, the festival of lights is now on at the Navratne of Taj Samudra till November 4. Navratna is the speciality Indian restaurant at Taj.
