Navy win
The fast improving Navy who are unbeaten in the Caltex A Plate League championship defeated Kandy Youth by 20 points (a goal, two tries and a penalty goal) to 9 (3 penalties) at Nittawela yesterday. (B.W)

Body Building at Olympics

Body Building at long last has been rewarded and will be included at the next Olympics. This decision has been taken by the World Body.

The President of the Asian Body Building Federation (ABBF) M.W. Deen of the Republic of Maldives has disclosed this to M. Kallia, Vice President of the Sri Lanka Body Building Federation when they met in Colombo on July 27. This decision has been conveyed to the 2002 World Congress chaired by Ben Weider, President of the world body.

Another decision taken at this congress was the hosting of the Asian Body Building Championships in India next month where five countries including Sri Lanka are scheduled to participate.

Manojith for HK Junior Open Squash
Manojith Weerasuriya of S. Thomas' College Mt. Lavinia and the reigning Under-17 Number 1 squash player will take wing to Hong Kong tomorrow (August 5) to take part in the Hong Kong Junior Squash Tournaments this year. He is being sponsored for this competition by the Nawaloka Group of Companies.

Fei Quando self defence training
A six month crash course in self defence and physical fitness will take place from August 10 onwards at all training centres of Fei Quando International conducted under the supervision of internationally popular martial arts expert Grandmaster M. Hassen Khalid.

The crash course in self defece will be for ladies, gentlemen, children above four years of age up to 60 years and will be hed at: (1) - C.I.S. 15 A Rohini Road, Wellawatte on Mondays and Thursdays from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. (2) - St. Joseph's College Sports Complex cum auditorium, Darley Road, Maradana on Saturday mornings from 11 a.m. to 12.30 p.m., (3) - MICH, 115 Dematagoda Road, Colombo 9 on Sundays, Tuesdays and Fridays from 6.30 p.m. to 8 p.m.

A large number of senior Fei Quando instructors will assist in the programme. They are: M. Nuzry Khalid (Brown Belt), M. Nuzky Khalid (Brown Belt), A. Usama Naufel (Brown Belt), M.R.M. Nihmattullah (Brown Belt), Chalitha Irandike Mudalige (Brown Belt), David Dallas Carvalho (Brown Belt), S. Muthu (Brown Belt) and junior instructors M.N.M. Naseeth (Amal International Fei Quando Club)

Ceylinco are C Div. cager champs
Ceylinco Group emerged C Division champions in the 5-a-side Mercantile Basketball Tournament when they beat Metropolitan Group 35-34 at the Royal College Indoor Court.

Ceylinco Group were placed second in the Mercantile league competition. They lost only to Delmege Forsyth (64-65) in the contest whilst they recorded wins over Airport & Aviation, Metropolitan Group, Maritime Holdings at the Otter Aquatic Club courts.
