Mega CEO's conference
The Sunday Times Business Club is also planning a mega CEO's conference in Colombo in November or December which would focus on issues like the economy, the private sector and the peace initiative, the private sector and social responsibility and the relationship between the private sector, government and civil society.

Reputed speakers from here and abroad would be invited to address the meeting. Watch this space for more details of the proposed conference.

Nominations by mid August
The Sunday Times Business Club invites nominations from its members for the new executive committee of the TBC which was re-launched last week. The club will have a committee inclusive of a president and vice president while the secretary of the club would be a nominee of the Sunday Times.
Nominations should be sent to Club Secretary Ms Devi at 304179 or 075-345163 on or before Wednesday, August 14.

Alliance Group takes over Xerox
The Xerox Corporation has appointed XeSol [Pvt] Ltd, an Alliance Group Company, as its sole distributor for all Xerox brand office automation products which include photocopiers, printers and fax machines in Sri Lanka.

XeSol [Pvt] Ltd was formed to handle the Xerox distributorship, the Alliance group said in a statement .

Harish Menon, country manager for Xerox in Sri Lanka , said Xerox would be able to substantially increase the present market share within the first year of operation.

"We intend introducing three new models to the market by year's end and with the current trend being a shift away from Analog towards Digital machines, Xerox has a distinct edge over its competitors due to the cost effectiveness of our Digital machines," he said.

"We are optimistic of being amongst the top office automation companies in Sri Lanka by 2004, " said Chairman Alliance Group Pratapkumar de Silva .
