Forgive and forget

It was the last day in school,
I had this huge problem,
"Why do people always want to discriminate against us?"
I asked the same question from a person,
And she asked me, why? What did they do to you?
I told her everything, eyes filled with wrath,
Then she asked me if they were my personal experiences
"No," I said, "these were things that I heard from others."
She said, "Then listen to this story."
And she told me a story, her story.
It was one of the worst stories that I had ever heard.
I was in tears.
I asked her, "Don't you feel angry for what they have done?"
She smiled and shook her head.
But how? I asked her.
"Because I forgave them a long time ago," she answered.
Yet, I wasn't convinced.
"Didn't Jesus forgive those who condemned him to death?" she asked me.
Then I felt something happening in me.
It was nothing but the healing of an anger filled heart.
Later I experienced the peace that she felt.
For I feel the same. The anger had gone,
Because a healing had taken place in my heart.

A little laughter

Laughter is indeed a priceless pearl
It really makes the world swirl
When the corners of your mouth twitch
And give your sides - Oh ! such a stitch
A lot of muscle work, to frown, they say
And mar your face in a most horrid way
But laugh, and the world will laugh with you.
Weep, and you'll be alone right through.
Those gleaming teeth - what a pretty sight?
Oh! Laugh and smile with all your might!
What a pleasant, tinkling, musical sound?
Ah, laughter sure makes the world go round!

Flames of war

Somewhere under the sky
A tear drop falls
But no one will hear the cry.
It will touch the earth
Burnt with heat
Only clouds will see the eyes.
A weary heart
That weeps inside
But no one will bring back love,
Only the sorrowful sighs
Will feel the pain
Till our hearts bind our lives.
Rifles rattle, guns fire
God has no mercy for man,
Soil is reddened, land is deserted
Flames of war burn the ground.
No more rejoicing
No more prospects
Only angels will teach us love,
Peace is far away
Humanity is lost
And man prays for the heaven above.

Was this friendship?

I was seeking a friendship that's forever,
Someone who can capture me in a heartbeat and stay for all time,
What I was hoping for was a friendship made in heaven,
I was searching for a friend who would stand by me
and walk through the fire and be my flame,
I didn't settle for anything less than what I deserved,
a sister and a friend who'd be by my side
through thick and thin for the rest of my life,
Weren't you this person?

Then again, in the dark of night, I'm wide awake thinking of all the things that has happened to our friendship,
How you looked when you had betrayed me,
How I felt when I knew it was you!
The tears of so many days, when I think of what you've done,
Apparently it seems I can't stop the tears from falling
If I could I would.
It hurts more than you could know.

Isn't "Friendship" something that should be
treasured as it's shared between two
supportive and respected people,
specially if they feel affection for each other and if
they mean trust and put out their deep dark secrets and fears
Or is there another definition to it?

Above all, I can't understand why?
Why did you stab me in the back?
Is this your definition of friendship?

Time: Handle with care

Time is a wonderful gift, don't you think? Like the clear blue skies, the bright warm sunshine or the bright colours of the beautiful flowers, time is free.

Sadly though, I guess, time is what we waste the most. Is it because time is free? You know, I've been wondering, if we had to buy time, would there be any difference in how we spend it? What if we had to pay in advance 500 rupees an hour for the time allotted to us? Would the days of our lives be used more wisely? Would we waste it? What if a price tag were put on the minutes and hours that we possess? How would our time be spent? The answer is obvious, I guess.

Thank God, time is given free of charge, you may say now, but that doesn't excuse us from using it consciously, carefully and wisely. Each of us is given 24 hours a day, and 8760 hours a year. "That's a lot of time", you may say. But strangely enough, our famous complaint is "there's no time". By wasting all this wonderful time, we let many an opportunity slip by, as we sit content. Instead we must take advantage of the opportunities time provides us, to serve not only ourselves but others as well.

I don't mean however, that we have to be working every single moment. It is of course necessary to have a break every now and then, to enjoy the calm beauty of a sunset or the sweet songs of the birds. We use our time wisely when we combine the appropriate stops with the proper steps.

Yes! We are glad that time is free, but like all other things time too, isn't forever. Make the most of time, so that we may never regret that time, was lost.

Our love......

A big smile
A little tear
Together they could be
The symbols of our love.
A smile for all the
tough times
made easier,
because we helped
each other through them.
I smile when I think of us
Sharing deep secrets
Comparing family histories
I have to laugh all over again
when I picture us
collapsing in giggles
over some private jokes
And it's hard to hold back the tears
when I remember all the times
I've poured out my heart
To you and you've listened
with such care and concern.
Our love means - so much to me.
It means both smiles and tears
But
because of you
the smiles are bigger...........................!
