Dear coz

Not the end of the world
Dear Coz,
I'm a 14-year-old-girl from a leading school. There is a 16-year- old boy who was one of my friends before we started an affair recently. Sometime ago he used to tell me about two girls who were interested in him and wanted to start an affair with him. According to him, he had told these girls that he has a girl and refused them. So things were quiet for a few months. But exactly one week after we started our affair a girl told me that my boyfriend was caught talking with two girls along with his friend. Although I didn't believe her I had no way of contacting my boyfriend at all - and I still don't.

Recently my best friend told me that my boyfriend had gone out with his older brother and a friend including three girls to a park. Or he had taken 3 couples to a nearby park and waited for them in his van along with his brother. Another friend says that the boys weren't spotted but the girls were, and two of them were the girls my boyfriend had told me about and whom I have mentioned above.

I feel so confused and hurt. I don't want to lose my boyfriend but there is no way to contact him and sort this out. I love him very much and it's killing me. I don't eat or do anything except lock myself up in my room and cry or study all day long.
I got good grades before but now I do excellently.

My friends say I look like a ghost because I never smile or laugh now. I never even see my boyfriend anymore. What should I do? Please help me, coz.
Eternal Broken Heart

Dear Eternal Broken Heart,
How do you communicate if you have no way of contacting him? When do you both meet or talk? Call him if you can and tell him everything. See what he has to say. Stop worrying. I know it hurts to be betrayed but it's not the end of the world. Try and find out who these girls are and exactly what sort of relationship they have with your boy friend. Then make your decision.

Painful lips
Chapped lips occur from repeated wetting and drying. They are more common in the winter when the cold, dry, windy weather dries out the lips. When the lips (or any other skin area) lose too much moisture, the outer cell layers become rough, dry and inflexible. Painful cracks may develop.

To minimize chapping, avoid licking the lips. Use a lip protector, such as a moisturizer or lipstick. Monisturizers are available as clear waxy ointments, creams, or sticks. Many contain sunscreens. Apply the moisturizer regularly and frequently, whenever the lips feel dry and at bedtime, especially if you have a cold or are a mouth breather.

If chapped lips persist, you should consult a dermatologist. Sometimes chapped lips are caused by eczema or allergic contact dermatitis.
